Gunshots rang out at a party in Carroll County overnight, and one man had to be airlifted to an area trauma center for treatment, according to state police.

Shortly after 6 p.m. on Sunday night, troopers were called to investigate a man who was shot at a gathering in the 4900 block of Hanover Pike in Manchester.

Police say that the victim - who has not been identified - was treated and transported by a state police helicopter to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for treatment and evaluation about undisclosed injuries.

According to reports, the victim was airlifted after being dropped off at the Carroll County Sheriff's Office.

The incident is believed to be isolated, and police said there is no threat to the public.

No details about the shooting victim was released by investigators. Route 30 was closed for several hours in Carroll County while police probed the incident.
